$25.6M in Federal Funding Secured for Water Projects in Southwest Colorado

I’m thrilled to share my involvement in a significant win for water conservation in Southwest Colorado! The Southwestern Water Conservation District (SWCD) has secured $25.6M from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s Environmental Drought Mitigation Program to support 17 impactful projects in the Dolores and San Juan River Basins.

These projects, funded through the Inflation Reduction Act, will address drought resilience, protect aquatic habitats, and enhance regional ecosystems.

I was proud to play a role in this successful grant proposal, developing all the maps that visualized and communicated the scope of these projects

This collaboration, led by SWCD and supported by over 30 federal, state, tribal, and local entities, demonstrates the power of partnerships and cartography in advancing conservation efforts. It’s an honor to contribute to such meaningful work that aligns with my passion for cartography and environmental advocacy.

Stay tuned for updates as these projects move forward to enhance drought resiliency across the region!
